​Carmela Carreño

In first meeting Carmela Carreño, you will know she is a professional with a personality as big as her heart. After completing her B.A. in Political Science from UCSB she was drawn to the local nonprofit sector, working with organizations like United Way of Santa Barbara County as a program coordinator and fundraiser and Just Communities Central Coast as their development director, in addition to serving on the boards of League of Women Voters of Santa Barbara and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church.  Carmela’s foundation is her faith and family, which includes two sons.  Outside of work, she can often be found dancing at studios throughout the L.A. area.

Cecily Hendricks

Cecily Hendricks is a professional performer, planner, and director in all aspects of her life. By working with nonprofit organizations at local and international levels for more than ten years, she experienced how programs with a proactive cause can truly help others in a long-term capacity. Pursuing a career in collaborating with community organizations was the next step forward. An actor by nature, Cecily earned her bachelor of arts in theatre arts at Westmont College. She brings a fresh perspective to project management with her keen eye for design and meticulous attention to detail. In her spare time, you will find Cecily in rehearsal or learning lines on the beach with her husband, Jasper.

Meggan McCarthy
Events Consultant 

Meggan McCarthy is a fundraising, event planning, and volunteer management 
expert. She specializes in the nonprofit sector and has worked with various nonprofits and governmental agencies throughout California, including the California STEM Learning Network, Planned Parenthood, the Foundation for Santa Barbara City College, and Boys & Girls Clubs. Meggan received her bachelor’s degree in business at the University of Puget Sound and is currently an Executive Board Member of the MERITO Foundation. Meggan enjoys being outdoors, hiking, biking, yoga, great food and wine, and traveling – the more exotic and adventurous, the better!  She is also an amateur diver and speaks Spanish.

Emily Barany

Emily Barany has an insatiable need to solve problems, create efficient systems and empower people. In 2011 she launched VISIONALITY with a mission to help organizations dream big and a commitment to transform their dreams into reality. What’s Emily’s dream? She wants to be part of something BIG too – projects that are bigger than the people involved and causes that will change the world. Emily has been named one of the top 40 under 40 Business Leaders by the Pacific Coast Business Times; received Mayor Garcetti’s 2016 Small Business Recognition Award; is the 2018 Alumni of the Year for the Ventura County Leadership Academy; was awarded the 2018 Innovator of the Year by the National Association of Women Business Owners, Ventura County Chapter; and VISIONALITY was named the #1 best place to work by the Pacific Coast Business Times in 2018. Emily is also a Board Member for the California Lutheran University Center for Nonprofit Leadership. Originally from Colorado, Emily graduated from California Lutheran University with majors in Communications and German and a minor in Philosophy. Emily loves doing agility with her best friend Scooter and baking complicated desserts to share with the people she loves. 

Jenny Cardenas

Jenny Cardenas is happiest when she is working with people who are focused on service to the community. She has worked in the community services field for the cities of Anaheim, Long Beach and Lancaster. Much of her work has focused on partnering with nonprofits to provide youth programs in the communities she served. As an experienced professional and mother of twins, she has become known for being both perceptive and adaptable. Jenny earned her Master's of Public Administration from California State University, Long Beach and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Chapman University. Jenny loves bike rides and eating tacos at the beach with her husband John, and twins Wyatt and Eva.

Llewellyn Somers

Llewellyn Somers excels at answering the question: “How can we do this better?” She is constantly envisioning ways to improve and elevate everything that she does. Although she is focused on details, Llewellyn is still able to see the big picture. Her colleagues describe her as insightful, passionate, and effective.  She is excited about working with organizations that improve the lives of the people they serve. Prior to joining VISIONALITY, she empowered entrepreneurs at Women’s Economic Ventures, taught middle school English in New York City, and worked in acquisitions for an academic publishing company. Llewellyn lives in Oxnard with her husband Tom and children Ebbett, Odella and Gregor.

Jessica VanHouten

Jessica VanHouten has an exceptional ability for understanding, working with, and helping people. It is very fitting that as a full-time student she has focused her studies on areas that all involve people. She is currently in her last year to obtain a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Biological Anthropology with a minor in Feminist Studies from UC Santa Barbara. She likes creating order out of the details, and simplifying things that aren’t always so simple. Jessica is most passionate about helping others, and whole-heartedly does the work she advocates for by volunteering at Planned Parenthood. 

Katherine Wertheim, CFRE

Fundraising Consultant

Katherine Wertheim, CFRE, teaches people how to ask for money and get it. She's raised millions of dollars for dozens of nonprofit clients. She has taught fundraising and board development to thousands of people in 22 U.S. states plus Asia and Latin America. Her published articles on fundraising have been seen by more than 200,000 people worldwide. She has served on 12 boards of directors since she was 16, holding every board office. She is a Master Trainer with the Association of Fundraising Professionals, one of 242 in the world, and has earned the Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential, which means she has passed an extensive, peer-reviewed process documenting her knowledge and results. When not consulting, Kathy likes hanging out with her family, doing 
Sudoko, and being a Toastmaster.

Krista Eulberg

Project Manager |

After working at a major film studio, Krista Eulberg found herself losing her passion for the medium. That is when she decided to go back to her roots in the nonprofit world. Krista has a strong commitment to service and believes non-profits are where social and cultural change
occur. Krista’s experience in film allowed her to develop a fervent ability to observe and ask questions – making her project management style approachable and innovative. Her questions often ignite ideas and fresh ways of implementing tasks. Krista holds a MFA in Film Production and a Bachelor’s degree in Theater Arts. On the weekends, you might find her and her dog, Drake, on a hike or on the couch with a good book.
